entrepreneurship-increase-productivity

As an entrepreneur, your daily productivity rate is oftentimes a biproduct of your routines and habits. It is our automated routines and habits that ultimately offloads the brain and optimizes our very workflow. We can also introduce certain hacks to our daily routine that may boost our productivity in different ways. Sometimes we quickly need a boost of energy, and sometimes we just need to slow down and find balance. In the end, we are all universal creatures trying to find harmony 24/7. When our body, mind and spirit are all balanced, our level of productivity becomes more stable, reliable and enduring. With this short read, we want to share a few hacks that can increase your productivity and ultimately level-up your entrepreneurship.

Cold showers

Entering a cold shower every morning may sound like torture deluxe. But that feeling of rinsing torture may pretty soon be replaced by a sense of craving. You’ll want to keep doing it when you get to experience the sweet benefits of the cold.

One of the listed benefits reported by cold shower practitioners around the world is reduced stress. By taking cold showers regularly, you put your body in a state of mild stress. This results in a process called hardening. In other words, your body gets better at handling moderate levels of stress. The hardening process will quite likely also develop your mental willpower over time, as will power is something that is required to endure the cold.

Another benefit of cold showers is increased alertness and focus. We all know that cold water wakes us up, and sometimes it almost feels like we’ve just got our face brutally slapped. The cold forces you to take deep breaths which reduces CO2 levels in your body, resulting in improved concentration.

So if you look to increase your productivity and eventually become a super entrepreneur, start your day by jumping into a cold shower.

The Yogi Breath

Our breath is the key to life itself, and everything it involves. The ancient yogis knew this and their knowledge and mastery of the breath inspires millions of people to this day. With optimal breathing we can unlock the full power of our mind and thus skyrocket our daily  productivity rate.

There are countless of different breathing exercises out there. However, sometimes one simple technique can be all that you need. The Yogi Breath might be one such technique.

With The Yogi Breath, the goal is to make the inhalation and exhalation equally long, adding comfortable breathing pauses in between. This technique stimulates your facial muscles while also reducing stress and improving circulation. It calms your nerves and enhances your ability to focus; two things that an entrepreneur (and human being in general) may want to experience quite often throughout the day.

The Yogi Breath is done as follows:
Breath slowly without force until your can count to 4 on the inhale and 4 on the exhale.

The best thing about this technique is that you can literally do it everywhere. And it doesn’t cost a dime.

Binaural beats

Binaural beats is considered a form of sound therapy. The technology alters the brainwaves by exposing the listener to one frequency in the right ear and a slightly different frequency in the left ear. These different frequencies will be perceived as one single tone.

For instance, the listeners right ear will hear a tone at 200 Hz while the left ear will hear a tone a 210 Hz. The difference between these two frequencies is – 10 Hz and this is also what’s called the binaural beat.

Different binaural beats tracks will alter your brain in different ways, and thus produce different effects. Some tracks will make your brain produce theta wave patterns which are associated with REM-sleep, meditative states and increased creativity. Alpha patterns on the other hand induces a state of more awakened relaxation. A binaural beat track that produces alpha brainwave pattern is perfect when you want to boost learning. Some people even say that you want alpha waves to be the dominant brainwave pattern throughout your day.

All in all, binaural beats can successfully aid your productivity by bringing enhanced creativity, reduced stress, increased focus, increased motivation and more. You can find plenty of free binaural beat tracks right off Youtube.

Magnesium & Turmeric

If you hate cold showers or binaural beats, you can always amp up your performance with some good old nutrients. Magnesium for instance, is known to reduce stress levels in your brain. This badass mineral can also increase your cognitive functions and memory. Low levels of magnesium are linked to lower brain energy, which is something you don’t want to experience in the midst of a major sales pitch.

Another lesser known brain friend is the spice Turmeric. Turmeric contains an antioxidant called curcumin, which help protect your brain from free radical damage. Adding one or two teaspoons of this yellow fellow to your daily meals may in the long run protect you from cognitive decline.

Inversion therapy

This productivity hack may sound strange, but that’s why it also may be rightfully called a “secret” hack. Inversion therapy means that you hang upside down in order to bring more oxygen to your brain. As most of us know, more oxygen to the brain means a happier and better performing brain. Pretty straight forward.

By hanging upside down, you exercise your brain capillaries (or blood vessels if you will). Over time, they will become stronger and more capable of transporting oxygen to your precious processing machine located up north.
